Alfred Shaheen was an American designer from the 50s & 60s who is best known for creating & popularizing Hawaiian shirts, including the one worn by Elvis on the cover of Blue Hawaii. Heavily influenced by both Polynesian and Asian motifs, this dress is one of the best examples of Shaheen’s east-meets-west aesthetic.
